On my way/ GRE question

Hey, just wanted to say "thanks" to lgcv and Nilepoc for their input as to which degree plan to go with. I just got word that I am accepted to the MSN program and that's the one I will go with.

I do have a question about the GRE. The program I am starting was only concerned with scores on the verbal and math section. They had no concerns about the analytical section so when I was preparing for the exam I completely ignored the analytical section and only concentrated on the math and verbal. I also didn't put much effort into that section during the exam.....it was the last section tested and I was ready to get out of there. I scored right at 600 on the math and verbal but only got just over 400 on the analytical part. Now that I am becoming more and more interested in CRNA school I am wondering if I should retake it to improve the analytical score or should I just sit tight with what I have? Thanks again for any info.

Most schools only look at the verbal and the math section as well as the overall score. I do know of one school that will use the analytical section as a tie breaker when two equally qualified people are being considered for a slot. The best advice I can give is to ask the schools you apply to.

You could probably increase your overall score by taking it again, and applying yourself to the analytical section, this of course will increase your competetiveness.

LGCV has a better feel for this than I do by the sound of the reply. I can only tell you about Georgetown, as it was my first interview and I went with them. Waisted 350 in aplication fees. oh well. they were interested in the whole score, and focused on the math and verbal. They told me that the verbal portion was were I was marginal and it wouldn't hurt if I had done better.

So I would say, that when you get closer to applying take a good look at your qualifications and decide whether you should take it again.

Apparently, the school that I am applying to looks at the GRE scores as a whole. I did amazingly well in the analytical section. So well, I would be able to get into the Law school of my choice.
