Does it Really Matter?

I am considering taking the ADN to BSN route to nursing. I am wondering if this will pose a problem in the future if I am considering CRNA school?? Or does it matter to the schools? Do they just want you to have a BSN, with good grades?
The only reason why I am considering this route is because, I will be able to finish both degrees in the same amount of time as the traditional BSN.

i had about two years between my adn and bsn. didnt seem to affect my chances at school.

doesn't matter

I am currently finishing my adn-bsn route and start anesthesia school 3 weeks after I'm done. to my school, it doesnt matter. others, however, wouldn't even consider my application because i wasnt done yet. I dont think which route you go matters, just that it gets done.

Don't think it really matters, however I went the ADN/BSN route and wish I would have just got it done in one program. Those two programs were at the same university as the anesthesia school I attend. I felt burned out even before I got to anesthesia school from both school and bedside nursing. So, I would not take that route again but if you feel it is best for you go for it. As I said I don't think it will affect your application when the time comes to apply to crna school.

Just go do the BSN route. Undergrad nursing school is just a bunch of whoops to jump through. You learn real critical care nursing on the job, in the ICU. I dont think any of the school really care how you get the BSN just as long as you have it.

I went the ADN-BSN route. It worked for me. I was able to get 1 1/2 years critical care experience while finishing up my BSN, and not to mention making some money earlier than if I'd gone the traditional BSN way. When I apply for anesthesia school this fall, I'll have over 2 years experience and 3 years experience by the time I start school (assuming I'm accepted somewhere).

I am an ADN to BSN nurse and I have been accepted to VCU nurse anesthesia program. I did not have a problem. I think they look at your over all personality type and confidence level. They want a person who can work well and take control in high pressure situations.

congratulations versedvixon for making it in VCU. I applied there and got the first alternate rank. So if you give up your place, I will surely grab it. ( I doubt if you will though ). Again Congratulations!!!!!
