Hi, this question is to all those students who have started school this year. I would like to know approximately how many schools you applied to and if you got an invitation for an interview on the first attempt. I have applied to five schools and hope to hear from some of them in late Nov.
Thanks for your help. Tammy

Tammy,
I applied to two schools back in April. I interviewed at one in May and the other does not even start interviewing until November (both programs start May '04). The third school I applied to about 2 months ago and have my interview next week. Some schools have rolling admissions and some only interview during certain times. So of my three apps, I have two interviews so far, and I hope to get the third in November since that school is my first choice! Good luck with your applications!

I applied to two schools in May 2002. I interviewed in July 2002 for one and was told at the interview that I was accepted. I declined the interview at the second school as I was accepted at my first choice.

Three applications out (all requested interview), three applications in the works. Did not proceed further once I was admitted to my first choice school.
FYI - Many schools will interview 2, 3, or even 4 students for every open slot. I asked each director how many interviewees were competing for each slot (I did not wish to participate in a cattle call), and they were all straightforward with the numbers. But you have to ask...
