by ChristineN Sep 27, '05Hi, I'm in a R.N. program, aiming toward being a nurse-midwife. In
English Comp, we have to write a paper related to our major, which for
me can be anything that has to do with healthcare. I've decided to do
my paper on nurse-midwifery. I'll probably narrow the topic down a
bit, since nurse-midwifery as a whole could be too extensive to
address in a 6-10 page paper. I'm thinking of trying to do the paper
on the pro's/con's of using a nurse-midwife. Do any of you
have any books, articles, or websites you would reccommend I check
out?
Thanks,
Noel Christine

This is on homebirths. But, great info regarding the midwife.
Good luck - Sep 28, '05 by ChristineNQuote from siriThanks Siri. I just read through that thread, and while there may be some info that'll give me ideas, right now I'm not wanting to do the paper on homebirths. Many CNM's deliver in hospitals or in a birth center.ob

They define what a nurse midwife and a non nurse midwife and you can get some info on your specific state. Thanks Siri. - Sep 29, '05 by ChristineNAnother idea I had was the history of nurse-midwifery. I'll meet with my instructor today, so I'll see what he thinks of my ideas.
- Sep 30, '05 by ChristineNWould any of the nurse-midwives here agree to private, via e-mail interview? If you're currently a CNM you'd be considered an "expert" in your field via the Eng Comp standards and would be a great source.
