Insurance Co= case mgmnt?

HI, I am currently an OR nurse, but desperately want to obtain a position with an insurance company. My question is, are most of these jobs considered "case management", or are they "medical reviewer", or are the two pretty much the same? As you can see, I have a general idea, but not the whole picture... I am just desperate to get out of the OR and into an office 5 days a week..... Also, I am assuming most major health carriers provide training to someone with only acute care experience? Is that true at all? I have applied online to 3 carriers, but no calls yet. I know this sounds like a stupid question, but should I be calling them? I have only worked in nursing and have never had to call anybody before about a position. Tips?
Thanks, guys

Good evening,

I presently work at a health insurance company as a Utilization Review Nurse. There are different types of positions at a health insurance company for nurses, the ones I know about at my company are Disease management, transplant coordinator, pre certification, case management, nurse UM review, Quality review, Medical records auditor. I only had 11 months experience in the acute care setting when I was hired. I just kept on applying until they called me in for an interview. I would also place a call to the recruiter, that's what I did to get my telephone triage pt job a few months ago. So now I also do phone triage a few days a month.
