Salaries for Cardiology Nurses

You pose a tough question, because as you probably well know, Nurses salaries vary significantly depending on what part of the country you are in. In general, ICU type nurses are paid the best within the hospital setting when working in direct patient care. However, if you were to choose bedside Nurse vs. Practitioner vs. Anesthetist, I think you will find that the Nurse Anesthetist to be the one to be the best paid.

I have been a nurse for about 18 years, and Cardiology is my specialty. Here in California my salary (as a Clinical Resource Nurse) at a University Hospital (where I have been for 13 years) is about $60,000 per year. There are places I know of that would pay more, but I don't want to live there. And there are most certainly many places that pay less. As a bit of advice, I hope you didn't choose Nursing for the monetary rewards because we will probably never be paid enough dollars for the kind of human service we supply. Nursing service is so much greater than $$$$$$. You must be dedicated, focused and willing to work hard for a few years to develop the finesse of a really fine Nurse. Good luck on your endeavors.

i work in CICU (northeast ohio). $21.12 per hour for 1 year of experience.

not sure how much our CRNA's are paid. but i've heard over 85000/year.
