Cath Lab:Panning the Table

I was recently told at a job interview that only CVTs could pan the table. Is this true? Where can I find this in writing? My current job allows anyone to pan the table and I would like to find out if this is correct or not. Thanks

The laws vary from state to state.

Here in California the laws restrict anyone other than an RT (Rad Tech) or MD with his fluoro license to step on the fluoro pedal with a patient in the beam.

I will have to research more to find out about panning, although I have a feeling because the patient will be under the beam during panning, we are restricted as well from participating without the required credentials.

Here in Virginia. Anyone can pan as long as it is an RT or MD on the pedal. Nurses are allowed to scrub with a doc but an RT has to be in the department if radiation safety issues arrise. Panning is really not a diffiult job as long as one has the experience to do so effeciently.
