Cannot wait to transition to the cath lab!

  1. 1 I'm a pedi ER nurse (with adult ER experience as well) and getting ready for a new adventure. Our cath lab is diagnostic and interventional. I cannot wait to be part of a TAVR! Can't wait for a swan! We're also cross training to interventional radiology and will be part of stroke embolectomy and angiography for traumas. I'm just so excited to learn something new!

I am happy for you. I am too in search of a new speciality for the new year. What is your weeknight call requirement and weekend call requirement?

You can either do one Friday 7p- Monday 7a, or Saturday 7a- Monday 7a + one 12 hour night call per month, as long as it equals out to 60 hours. One holiday a year on call.

So you are saying Friday night , Sat morning, Sat night, Sun morning, Sun night through Monday morning? 5 hours+ 24 hours+24 hours+7= 60 hours of straight call . How do you plan to stay awake? Do they still expect 30 minute call response with the terrible winter in Massachusetts? I would have to do 48 hours plus additional 12. I am tired after 16 hours of being awake.
