University of Calgary Transfer Route Fall 2014

World Canada CA Programs

Hey! I didn't see a post for fall so I thought Id start one :)

Does anyone know how many seats they have for transfer students for the fall term? Have my fingers crossed, hope I get in!

Heya!

The amount of people they take in fluctuates depending on funding, how many applicants they receive, etc. Looking at passed years, it seems to be around 135-140 that they take in. However, for the this Winter term, they only took in 112 applicants so perhaps the Fall in take will also be cut. For this term, there were only 30/112 seats reserved for transfer students.

Last Fall in-take, the cut off GPA was 3.56. If the number of seats is decreased then the cut off GPA will be higher than that. Since the deadline is March 1, there won't be too much information on seats and GPA until probably June or July. Try giving them a call at the end of this term or visit the Nursing advisor's office. She will be able to give you a better answer.

Good luck!!!

I have applied for the Fall 2014 transfer route program. I have had a million issues with transcripts arriving/not being ordered (my Athabasca one was never actually ordered by the U of C) and so I'm crossing my fingers that this last phone call will be the end of the technical issues with my application.

I have an offer of admission from MRU (4 year program) and I scored an interview to the Midwifery program at MRU which is at the end of March. I don't really want to do the 4 year MRU program and would rather just apply for the degree holder route or re-apply for the transfer program if I don't get in to the U of C this year (I'll likely do Midwifery if I actually get in to it, but I'm not counting on it). My GPA is around 3.85 (MRU calculates it to be a 4.0, but they use fewer classes to determine GPA) so I'm pretty confident that I'll be getting in to one of my top choices.

Hey everyone!

I emailed them the other day and was told that this fall they're hoping to take 30-34 transfer students and they've set the competitive GPA at 3.5, however it may go down.

Also, now for FALL 2014 they only require 10 half-courses to be completed (1 full year) which means there will be more students applying since for FALL 2013 they required 15 half-courses to be completed (1 /15 year).

Oh, I didn't know they required 15 half courses for fall 2013! I've thought the requirement had been 10 half courses for a while. Good to know though!
