UBC Nursing - Sep. 2012

Hello Everyone!

I am considering applying to UBC Nursing for the September 2012 intake... but I'm not quite sure if I'm eligible to apply...

My primary concern is my post-secondary credits... everyone seems to have already completed a Bachelor's before applying? As of now, I have 40+ credits... by the end of June 2010 I'll have 50+ credits (which is the deadline for all transcripts), but they're a combination of first-year science, calculus and language courses with only a couple of second year o-chem... would that be ok?

I am currently a Langara student, but I have studied at SFU before until my relocation.

I've also read on the website that the average age of applicants were 21-47 (please don't quote me on this, I can't remember the exact range)... and I'm now 18 (will soon turn 19 though), but I have the requirements it's just that I'm unsure if it's alright that my 50+ credits are mostly first-year...

My GPA now is 3.3 and hoping to boost it up after this semester...

I volunteer regularly at a senior home and am a certified lifeguard and swimming instructor, worked part-time at Timmys until relocation and now have a part-time job at a local grocery store... I just hope age isn't that big of a deal because I know what I want and I'm working for it...

Should I apply at all...

(Very Worried. HELP Please!!!)

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Middaystar, I think that was the end of my dream. I too am a Z. Congrats and best of luck on the interview.

I just got my interview too!

All the best for those who are still waiting-- there is still time. My last name starts with S

Fingers crossed :)

the alphabetical thing isn't looking so good.. no email for me yet and i'm an O.

congrats to you all who got interviews this morning! I think this forum is making

me more sad than anything.

My SSC doesn't show messages in the message center, I have a mac, could that be why?

Anybody have any insights on the interview process? What are the 6 stations like? Any info about what types of scenarios you are asked? Congrats to all who received interviews!

It's okay iheartpurple. I'm on the same boat; there is still time left today and possibly tomorrow. I know it's annoying to hear because this is so important to us, but if this doesn't work out other doors will open up. Until you receive that rejection notice don't lose hope quite yet.

Thank you VanessaDarlene, that means a lot =)

I just feel like the process is way too stressful... oh maybe they are trying to test our ability to handle stress...

that would be so mean! lol

You're very welcome. :) This process in itself is mean and stressful!

I was puzzled to receive an invitation today because I expected them to send the invitations out starting on the first week of April which is what they stated on the website. So those people who are still waiting including VanessaDarlene, don't be despaired!!

As to those who received an invitation, what are your dates?

Mine's on April 16th, Monday. Is this the first day of all the interviews?

Mine is on Friday, the 20th. @katniss I think you're probably the first day. I agree..don't dispair! There is still time!

uh oh. I think being interviewed on the first day definitely puts me at a disadvantage.

Here's a nice overview article on UBC Nursing using MMIs:

Are there any others who are scheduled on the first day like me??
