Is anyone else feeling anxious ?!

I applied with 47 credits. 350 hours volunteering at a care home, 200 at a hospital. I got two health care jobs at nurse next door and spectrum society where I got amazing experience with meds, personal care, and a lot of things related to nursing. I included two references from one from the hospital and one from the professor. My gpa was high they said, I think 3.6 or above. I did the two libs courses as well and also included that I started a project at the hospital I worked at in the NICU. I improved a lot from my first application and that is what they look for

I'm part of the top 10 waitlisted for april and it says I would be guaranteed a seat for sept 2018 if no offers are made for April. Was there anything else you had to do? Or did u just wait for the next intake

That's awesome!!! Either way you start nursing school this year! I'm not sure how the wait list works you probably just have to wait and that's it

Is anyone here also on the waitlist? I want to apply for the September 2018 intake but I'm not allowed to unless I get off the waitlist. BCIT admissions haven't told me if I'm top 10 or not, so I'm really unsure what I should do for a better chance at getting accepted.

Did you receive an email? It should say if you're part of top ten. Would u consider emailing to inquire ?

I didn't get any message this time about being top ten or not. I did get one for the January intake though. I emailed admissions but I'm waiting for the admissions officer to get back to me. :/

Does anyone know if they will just look at our pereq gpa or cgpa?

I've asked and was told they look at both.

Ahhh thank you, I'm applying with 45 credits, my pereq gpa is 3.39 and my cgpa is 2.46 which I'm really concerned about.. but I do have related work and volunteer experience. Do you think I'll still have a chance?

You might want to ask advising or talk to the nursing people at BCIT's big info night - think there is one next week. Nursing produces a handout that describes the ‘typical' student that got accepted into the last intake, that might be helpful too. I think it was advising that gave it to me when I met with them but would expect nursing would have it at their stand next week. Good luck.

Thank you!! I'll definitely go next week.

Hey I'm applying to bcit as well and looking for somewhere to do my chem 11. Where did you do yours?
