UofT prep course or Primededucation???

World Canada CRNE

Published

I was unsuccessful in passing the June 2014 CRNE...I think my weakness was that I was extremely nervous the night before the exam where I could barely sleep. I think I only slept for like 2 hours max and when doing the exam I felt very unfocused and nervous. I was reading the questions into too much detail which confused me. I did all the CNA questions and felt very comfortable with them.

I am planning to retake the CRNE in October and looking to take a prep course. Wondering if anybody can give some feedback on the UofT prep course and the Primededucation. Both are a 2 day intensive course and seem to be very similar in terms of their schedule.

Thanks

I went to the UofT prep mainly for the practice questions, and mock exams. In addition, I found the break down of how well I did in each category of questions that they send afterwards to be useful in identifying gaps in my studying. In terms of actually being taught material, you'd probably be better off taking another prep course.

I took the UofT course, and loved it! The mock exam was really tough, but the print out we got really helped me focus on my areas of weakness. It also gave me some good strategies to get me through testing day. If you just want strategies for how to best study, and how to manage stress the day of the exam, I recommend it. If you need a course to review content, I've heard the Ryerson one is good (though don't know first-hand). Good luck in October! :)
