Advice for Studying for CPNRE While Working?

Hey everyone!

So I just started my career as an LPN about a couple of months ago and I also work as a HCA casually. I'm casual at my LPN job as well and was wondering if anyone had any advice for studying for the CPNRE while working? I'm from British Columbia working on an interim license.

I'm most concerned about my job as an LPN right now because I just want to be able to do a good job while I'm working. I want to have time to be able to come off of shift and really reflect on it when I get home but then I think to myself, "I need to study for the exam." I want to be able to come to work and feel more prepared. When I get home, I usually just think about the negative feelings I have about myself as a new nurse and I just go on allnurses. I feel sooo disorganized! :sour:

I'm just stressed because the exam is coming up on the 23rd and having anxiety because I'm thinking, "Oh, work might call me." Because of this, the anxiety is constant. I wouldn't have taken the LPN job but the only reason why I took it was because I honestly hate my job as an HCA and want to take more LPN shifts instead. I dont want to quit the hca job because I haven't even been there for a year yet! I want to keep working as an LPN because I think with time, the routine will get easier.

Please help!

I worked and most of my class worked before writing the exam.

Just book yourself off for a couple of days prior to the exam. A lot of what you know, you will be reinforcing by working.

The key is not to overthink the question

And why are you working and worrying about an aide's position when you are a nurse? You do realize you will be held accountable as a nurse while working as an aide. You are giving your employer your skill set for free.

I'm still working as an aide because there isn't enough work apparently for lpns and i didn't want to work as an lpn where i work as an aide. The lpns there are new grads and those with language barriers and a lot of the aides have been complaining about them. All the experienced nurses were laid off.
