What Can I Do??

U.S.A. California

If all the new grad positions are filled am I supposed to wait until the end of the year when more new grad positions become available? What else can I do because I need a job badly to support myself and my child? I've been looking for jobs in both Sacramento and bay area and haven't received 1 call back! I'm so frustrated. I have a BSN, graduated with honors, have my RN license, I did about 300 hours for my senior practicum, and worked as an intern but still can't get a job! What else are they looking for? I'm starting to think you can't find a job unless you have a foot in the door or unless you know someone. Even though I had my foot in the door, I still couldn't get a job. I guess I'm just very unlucky. I've worked so hard and this is really discouraging. I started applying at the end of March/April. I need some suggestions as to what I can do. Thanks.

I know you must be frustrated. It is challenging to find a new grad job in the bay area. I found a position but I'm driving an hour to work. What I had decided earlier is to move to southern CA to get a year's experience and then move back. Have you considered this?

Anyway, Good luck in your job hunt.

yes, I have thought about moving down south, but was scared since I do have a child and would have zero help there. i would totally have to depend on child care and that may not work if I have a night job. If it were just me, I would go in a heartbeat. Thanks for the suggestion.
