Thank you Sutter PICU Nurses in Sacto

I don't know if anyone that was there at the time will see this, but you never know. We had just taken placement of a six-week old Asian girl with Down's Syndrome that "may have some heart problems." Yep...needed surgery to repair an ASD & VSD. Started out with an NG tube and then went to a Broviac and a G-Tube. They used Holly to make instructional videos for their staff even.

The nurses at Sutter's PICU (where Holly generally was admitted to) were wonderful! I would spend my nights up there with her because we had five other children at home. I'd usually bring a box of doughnuts for the nurses with me, just to thank them.

After her heart surgery, the nurses hung a picture that they'd taken of her before the surgery. I've never forgotten that thoughtfulness. That picture helped so much, because she didn't look like herself at all with all of the fluids from the heart-lung bypass machine.

I just wanted to say "Thank you."

Holly will be fourteen this month. I am a LPN on the surgical floor at our hospital and will be returning to school in a month for my RN. Those nurses and their compassion towards Holly and myself impacted my life in more ways that I would have suspected at the time. You all made more of a difference than you could possibly know at the time. Thank you!!!

Cheryl
