Registered Nursing in Los Angeles

Hello everyone. I was wondering what the job outlook is looking like in LA. I'm a new grad getting ready to take the NCLEX next month. I plan on finding a job in my state for about a year, then I plan on moving out to LA. I was also curious what the average hourly wage was right now for a new grad. Thanks in advance for your posts and time.

Job outlook in LA is bleak. Better than NoCal, but still bleak.

CHLA new grad residents start in high $20s. UCLA is $30-ish for their new grad residents. So, assuming you come to LA with a year experience under your belt, you could expect more than $30ish.

    Good luck!

If you can, get 2 years' experience before you come back. Or at the very least, do not move back here unless you have an official job offer in hand. The job market is also tight for experienced nurses as well, and for some places a year may not cut it. Best of luck.
