question about LVN program in Orange County.

U.S.A. California

hello, I have a girl friend who is interested in getting LVN liscence in OC. I was wondering if she should go straight to LVN or RN??? She has done some community college courses, but GPA is very low.

Can anyone recommend the school that is clinically oriented and provides good academic preparations for LVN state board exam? Also, is there any financial aid program to pay the tuition??? Any suggestion?? Any other program suggestion?? Thank you so much.. I am asking because I am so new to nursing program.

]I've checked the LVN program at Concorde in Garden Grove, and from what they've told me, tuition will be around $33,000 and they do offer financial aid for those who qualify. But like many other schools, I've read that they're a "for-profit" school so I'd highly suggest your girlfriend do some research regarding these schools before pulling the trigger. I personally went in to speak with a reprensentative and I felt that something was wrong with the vibe she was giving me. She kept insisting all the positives and when I mentioned that I was looking into other schools such as Summit, she strayed away and suggested to stay away from any other colleges because they're "never-ending black hole" schools. So please do search around on allnurses and read the pros and cons about each school before making a decision. Good luck with everything!
