Palmdale/Lancaster Area

U.S.A. California

Hi,

I'm due to graduate in May (AAS-RN) from a community college here in upstate NY. Soon after graduation, my family and I will be moving back to California for good (my husband is in the military). We will be living in Palmdale, CA; and I'm interested to meet anybody who works as an RN in any of the hospitals in the area including Lancaster. I will be taking the NCLEX-RN sometime in July or August. At this time, I'm already trying to explore my options on where to work. I'm thinking maybe Lancaster Community, AV Hospital, Palm Desert or Kiaser Permanente. Can somebody give me a feedback as to how it is to work in one of the said hospital in the Antelope Valley. What's the pay like for a new grad (with no prior to school experience) and how do I contact these hospitals and how soon should I contact them? Oh, also I'm very much interested in finding a hospital that will offer a tuition reimbursement (tuition here in NY is extremely high compared to California). Thank you all for any advise you can offer me.

There's a couple clinics on Edwards, so you don't have to drive 45 miles to Palmdale. One crew monitors the shuttle landing, fun. Look up the NASA health unit, I think Claire Sleboda is in charge and they always need help
