Hey Roxygirl. Thanks so much! I don't have any experience as a CNA or really any hospital experience. I do have my BSN and also my Bachelors of Health Science with good GPAs. I don't know if that helped my application. Good luck to you!

I spoke to the nurse recruiter. She said there were only 6 spots.

I was told 19 people for their Versant program when I interviewed last week.
(Keeping my fingers crossed that I didn't totally fail my interview).

Cardiovascular Unit (CVU, Telemetry, I think). There were only 2 people there to interview me - the Versant Program director and a Unit Manager. They take turns asking questions and are very pleasant. You might want to ask how many people they're going to hire for the unit you're applying for (there will only be 2 for CVU).

Yes. RN-BSN... no prior work experience in healthcare though. Northridge is working on getting a Magnet designation so they're looking to hire mostly those with a BSN.

Congratulations on getting the opportunity to work at Northridge. It's unfortunate though that they don't want to hire ADN graduates that do have healthcare experience though. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing against you. It's just frustrating that hospitals are more concerned with awards than anything else.

Just venting my frustrations, sorry. Again, congrats!

Thanks, but I'm still waiting to see how my interview went (crosses fingers). I'm supposed to get call sometime this week to see if they're going to hire me. That being said I don't know for sure that they're only hiring BSN graduates.

IT seems tO me that northridge is still interviewing. They called a friend of mine for an ICU interview 2 weeks ago and they called me last week for a NICU interview. We both declined because we already have jobs. I hope this helps with trying to figure out where they are in their hiring process.

I interned there for a while. They sort the stack into BSN and ADN piles, and then divide them up by unit. Its actually the Unit directors who looks at the applications to determine who they think is a good pick for their unit. Having an ADN doesn't disqualify you nor does having previous healcare experience. They want a good fit; also, healthcare experience can be a benefit for obvious reasons, but it can be a hinderance if the person has difficulty switching roles. Don't count yourself out if you are an ADN or a BSN with no experience. Also, the residency coordinator is REALLY nice, so don't worry if you feel like you have to call her.
