Anyone applying for summer/fall 2012? Anyone can comment about the program (graduates, current students)?

Thanks!

thanks!

Has anyone received notification saying they did not get in?

Hi I'm in Cohort 11 too! I wasn't able to be at orientation because I was out of the country. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. I tried finding a group on facebook but no luck. Anyone have a link?

danceluver its a bsn. np programs are usually specialized masters programs.

we are only considered graduated students because we have prior bachelor degrees.

dose anyone decide to drop their acceptance to go to a different school instead ABSN at CSUN on fall 2012?

To those of you that got into the program last year and are currently students, can you offer any insight about what your grades were like?

Also, do you know if CalState Northridge accepts Psych Stats as your Stats requirement for prereqs?

Do they accept a general communications class as your Speech requirement?

the CalState Northridge ABSN program is my top choice so any insight anyone could offer would be AMAZING.

THANK YOU.

Mona - I'm sure there are people who chose a different school. As for this year, however, there are 20 students enrolled in each cohort, so it's still pretty competitive.

Nurse Shaina - I think your grades for your health requirements have to be high. As far as your previous degree, I'm not sure. I went to undergrad and grad school, so I think they might average them (so I can't really tell you what they are expecting in the gpa category). I took an intro communications course at a local community college. you can go to Welcome to ASSIST to see if the course transfers.

Happyperson 2 thank you so much for your response. Do you know if the school has waiting list for the program or not?

they have what is called an alternate list. It's not considered by the school to be a waiting list (they will tell you they do not have one). I was on their list, as were a few of the others of us that got in. I don't know what number I was and I'm not sure they would have given out that information. But, all schools have people that get placed on some sort of back up list because they want to fill the spots (they just don't view it as a waiting list). If you were put on the alternate list, there's a letter you'll receive that says they will contact you if a space opens. From what I gathered from the others (and form my own experience) was that we had 24 hours to let them know after they sent us an email.

So from the beginning you(or others) got an alternate letter? Or after there was an open space they send you alternate letter? I got a rejection letter and I want to know is this the final decision? Or there would be small chance if someone drops her/his seat I may get into the program?

Thank you,

The letter I received was for the alternate list that stated if a space opened up, they would let me know. If you have questions about your letter, you should call the department...

Hey guys! I'm new to posting and see a lot of you on this thread got accepted to csuns absn program for 2012. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing your GPAs and work experience or volunteer experience. I have a BA from UCLA but my GPA isn't all that good (just over a 3.0) but my community college is 3.5 so I'm just wondering if they take the average of them all... I'm just wondering if I even have a shot at csun?!? Any info would be great, thanks,
