Hi rafaeia,

I was going to apply to Sac State too and it was one of my top choices, but then they closed the Traditional BSN to everyone who wasn't already a Sac state student. Are you a Sac State undergrad? Next they shut down the Accelerated BSN. I was really disappointed.

I also emailed the foreign language department for an assessment. They got back to me after a long time, but by then the programs were already unavailable. A sad story. I hope you have better luck (like you are a Sac State student).

Good luck with the other schools, though!

Hi Nurseinthemaking20,

I'm sorry your Science score didn't come out better. I got a 94 overall but Science was my lowest area, which really surprised me. I wish I had a suggestion for you but, like you say, it seems a little random. Maybe scan your Anatomy, Physio, Micro notes. And cross your fingers you get the right random questions this time. Good luck!

Thanks for the helpful info regarding the foreign language department. I think that those who are not sac state students can apply for fall 2013 admissions in nursing. The supplemental part opens on February. It was restricted in spring 2013 though, is that what you are referring to?

Thanks for the update on Sac State, rafaeia. That's great to hear that the program is open again for fall. I'll look into it.

Here is what the language department responded to me:

"For Nursing, you only need the Speaking skill evaluated for Admissions to their program. If you need the Sac State graduation requirement, then take our Proficiency Test for Listening and Reading. You can register for one or all three skills on our form (www.csus.edu/fl under Printable Forms). A $5 fee for each test is paid at Student Finance Center in Lassen Hall. The next Group Test is Feb 15, and you can request the Speaking assessment on that date."

This advice came from Prof. Laurette Suter

Nurseinthemaking20,

Great news on your TEAS score!

The deadline for the Fall 2013 cohort was Nov. 30, I believe. I guess you'll apply for the next round.

No I think it's march 1st for fall 2013. That's usually how it goes. I'll check but I'm pretty sure...

Scwolf- yeah I just checked. The nov 30th deadline is the deadline to apply to the university. I am already a sac state student. The deadline for the nursing program is march 2nd so we have until then. Are you applying?

Oh, sorry. I thought you were talking about CSU EB. My mistake. Sac State... yes, I do plan to apply. I have one class that I need to get assessed; it's English from an out-of-state college. And, I'm afraid I need to take the Spanish language test. It's a long drive for me; I wish there was some way to avoid it but my language skills come from time spent in Mexico not classes (on my transcript).

Good luck with your application!

Oh I see. Wow a lot of obstacles for you. Well I do hope you can get all those done by march 2nd. Maybe you could still get in without those 3 extra points for language. You have high stats!

I don't mean to whine. Things do seem to be coming together. The program staff have been very helpful.

One note: It looks to me like the postmark deadline (or in-person drop-off deadline) is March 1, as you said at first, not March 2.

Here's the link: Traditional

Isn't that right? I don't want you (or anyone else reading this) to miss it by one day.

Yes my mistake. It's march 1st. Thanks for that clarification.
