Chemotherapy Infusion jobs in California?

U.S.A. California

Published

I am an RN in Maryland with 3 years nursing experience.

I have recently decided to move back to California, my home state.

I would like to continue to work in a Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic and am having a heck of a time finding any jobs posted.

I currently work at a very prestigious Hospital in the Mid Atlantic Region and have excellent training and experience.

Are there any organizations or ways to network that any one would suggest?

Any suggestions or help much appreciated!

You didn't say which part of CA you are planning to move to--north or south. I would start with those hospitals that specialize in cancer. In so cal there is the City of Hope. There are others such as Cedars Sinai in LA, the USC Norris hospital that has a comprehensive cancer center down by county general. There is an article I found on line that discusses top cancer hospitals across the US; the website is http://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals

Many of the hospitals have a acute care cancer floor as well as a separate out patient facility but some facilities are only outpatient.

Good luck.

Thanks for the information!

I am looking to move to Southern California to be close to aging parents and friends.

I will read that article.

I would love to work at City of Hope. Right now I am limited to Disproportionate Share Hospitals (Teaching Hospitals) because I have a contract with a loan repayment plan that requires this of me.

So I am mainly looking at UCLA, UCI, and UCSD.

Do you know if there are any Oncology Nursing associations specific to Southern California?

Thanks!

Specializes in Emergency Department, Float Pool.

I just saw some on CHW, and Sutter websites

There must be an oncology association in CA. BTW Cedars has a good oncology program and it is also a teaching hospital...as is LA County hospital in downtown LA and County Olive View in the San Fernando Valley. The Norris CancerInstitute/Hospital is a teaching hospital located very close to County hospital in downtown LA. Understand the requirement to be close to aged parents--same here.
