Applying to ABSN Programs in So Cal

I applied last year to a few ABSN programs in San Diego. It seems like these programs keep changing their requirements (i.e. instituting a point system, adding a Research Methods class) as a way to stem the tide of applicants who have decided to become nurses. Most of these programs said (last year) that it was ok to apply with prerequisites still in progress. However, now for the most part, these schools now state that they won't even consider you until prerequisites are completed (while they add new prerequisites to the list).

It seems like it would be better to just apply to schools when my prerequisites are all done (1 more semester). Does anyone else feel the same way? It just seems like calling all these admissions depts. every few months to keep abreast of all the changes and also to remind them that my application is still in their stack, is is rather depressing. I submitted my apps a year ago with certain requirements in place, and now there's different requirements, etc.

The ABSN landscape in SD has been tumultuous in the past year. Try applying at CSU San Marcos or Concordia U in Irvine. They have been very helpful and easy to work with. It is frustrating that each school has different requirements. Good Luck!
