UAMS BSN Summer 2014

For anyone who has applied to the UAMS BSN program that begins in Summer 2014 or anyone who is currently in and/or has completed the program. I have applied and am currently going through the process. UAMS has contacted me for an interview next week. Does anyone have any insight on this? Or those who wish to just discuss the program or wait out the acceptance process feel free to join in.

I plan to apply to UAMS for summer 2014 as well. I have not taken the TEAS V yet, I am scheduled to take it Feb. 2. How did you do on the test? Any advice?

My overall score on the test was a 75. Ironically I found the worse part to be the one I thought I felt comfortable with "science". I mainly studied the other subjects and ended up doing poorly in the science category. I bought an app for my iphone specifically for the Teas V and it was loaded with questions. This is all I used to study. I took it November 6th and gave birth to my son November 22nd. I know I could have done better had I focused on it a little more. Overall, I didn't find it too complicated and noticed I finished very quickly ( I had been worried when I heard there was a time limit) If you can get the app for your phone I recommend this as you can study anywhere and at anytime. I went over the questions every night right before I fell asleep. Stop studying 30 minutes to an hour before the test and just try to relax. Everything you have learned is done and it is what it is so take a breather and give yourself a much needed moment before going in. Good Luck!

My best friend went to UAMS and was very happy with the program! I wish I could relate, but I'm in the Baptist program :)

Hello :-) I am also applying to UAMS for the BSN program this summer! My interview is next week (Thursday) and I'm very nervous but excited. I took a year off to get into UAMS after being accepted to UALR's accelerated program...So this is it for me.

I was told to dress very professionally and to expect questions around the context of: Why do you want to become a nurse, Discuss a situation when you had to deal with (insert question about people, or a difficult situation here), Discuss your strenghs and weaknesses, ect.

I am a USAF medic and work at UAMS currently so I'm hoping that will give me some type of foundation that will help me during the nursing program. I will wait the acceptance out with you! :-)

On TEAS V I made a 74.3 and have a 3.8 GPA

I have a 3 year old son and hope the summer wont be too demanding/difficult for me because I want to also make some time for him. I've heard so many different things but I guess you never really know until you get there! Good luck, I would apply ASAP because the deadline is slowly approaching!

It's at 2pm. When is yours? I'm still looking for professional looking business slacks/tops ect. I think I will make a trip to Dillard's or Burlington! Lol !

Hi all! I am applying to UAMS for their Summer 2014 BSN class as well. I just turned my application in last week. I was curious, how long after you turned your application in did you hear back to schedule interviews?
