Taking chemistry 130 during the summer semester at a Maricopa CC....

I only have 3 classes until I can apply for the nursing program (Chem 130, Math 092 and Math 120)...Im not sure how the summer semester works but my plan is to take Chem 130 and math 092 in summer 1 then math 120 summer 2. Has anyone taken a summer science class? And if so, how difficult was it?

I did take chemistry 130/ 130l and math 141 in summer. Lots of assignments/homework .

How many hrs a day did you have to study? Did you get good grades?

summer is great because it is intense.... you focus on that class and get it done!!! i took stats, micro in the summer to get them out of the way

I took Chem 130 with lab and PSY101 during the summer. Chem was certainly more challenging. We had class M/T/W/Th, Lecture all 4 days and labs 2 days. You will need to invest study time in the afternoons( if your classes are in the morning) but it can be done. My Chem class was 8 weeks long though, our campus did not offer 4 week Chem classes. I got an A in both classes, so believe me, it can be done.

I took the lab through RIO online and the actual class online through South Mountain Community College because both the lab and the course are required. I took them both at the same time online, however I think South Mountain also offers the lab online as well. The teacher was great at South Mountain Community College. Her initials are -------

I took CHM 130 at MCC during the Summer Session last year. If you have a family and work I would strongly discourage it. If you are single and work part time it would be a great way to "knock it out". Be prepared to live in the tutoring center. Best of luck!
