Starting NS this Fall at Pima, anyone else?

U.S.A. Arizona

FINALLY! The wait has just taken forever but I'm finally starting NS this Fall at Pima CC. Any other newbie Pima nursing students here?

Yeah it was pretty intimidating, but i heard one of the other nursing students (third semester I think) that they also go into detail about all those things once we start school. But I still feel like I really need to study the nervous system (i didn't remember hardly any part of that) and the endocrine system (a little fuzzy but better than nervous) since she said they were so important! I am going over the blood and the heart tonight since she said that was another big thing, and I don't remeber much about the anatomy or flow...maybe i won't be as lost tommorow, at least not with the heart...Good luck 8)

Hey Wicked Wahine! How did the oreintation go? How about the HESI? I hope it was ok 8)

Hi Ashlee! Orientation was fine and Marti just basically touched on stuff that's all in the nursing school handbook. We also got our schedules! My first semester clinicals are going to be at TMC. The HESI wasn't too bad, I thought, although I didn't do all that well on the A&P portion. I need to study up more for when I retake it. There's a program through the county that they'll go over in your orientation where if you retake Bio203 and attend all these different meetings and then retake the HESI exam, you'll get a check for $250. So everyone was pretty much, "Uh, yeah, sign me up!"

Anyways, good luck on your orientation and HESI!

Wicked Wahine,

Thanks for the info! I have practically been going crazy over waiting to get information about school and especially waiting to get my schedule. (I am pretty sure I got into the accelerated program). I am so excited and nervous all at the same time! I feel like a dork, but I am so ready to go back to school! 8)

Hey UofAshlee and Wicked Wahine,

First off...CONGRATS ON STARTING NURSING SCHOOL THIS FALL!!! I know you both are crazy excited! I'm currently in the RT program (in the same building) and am starting the RN program next fall! I noticed you guys said you took a HESI exam? What exactly is that? Do they expect you to pass it right off the bat? And where did you guys take that A&P refresher course?

once again, CONGRATULATIONS:anpom::anpom:
