Starting at MSC on Sep 25th and SO NERVOUS!

U.S.A. Arizona

MSC starts on September 25th. Everything is in place. I'm so nervous! I have no idea what to expect! I picked up an NCLEX-PN study guide and have no idea what most of the stuff is in there, so I'm also intimidated by what I'm supposed to learn in a year. Is there anything I should get before school starts? Any tips for success?

Congrats on getting in the program. I want to apply for the class starting in February. Can you tell me if there are any prereqs required? I no about the NET, quiz, and shots and such. I'm trying to find out if MSC requires the same as MCC schools...A&P, Chemistry things like that. I didn't see them listed in the program outline. Will you have classes Monday through Friday? I emailed my questions to the Healthcare Advisor, but hasn't gotten back with me. Did you study for the NET. If so, what did you use? Sorry for all the questions.

there are no pre-reqs for the program in regards to academics, however you still have to take the NET and have all your health records and immunizations, also your health provider cpr card. Anthony is pretty difficult to get in touch with, I found its best to call around 10am or so. You may need to go directly to him for the best response. Classes for block A are m-f 8-3, however, I heard that blocks B and C are not and will only be 3 days in class and 1 day clinical. I hope that answers some of your questions.

Thanks for your response. He is hard to get in touch with.

You don't need to get in touch with the school until you have done the tutorial, and taken the NET. You gotta understand, these schools are fielding calls all day long! That is why they refer you to the website. That is what will get the ball rolling for you. There has been alot of disorganization in the past, and this new way of getting things started will hopefully work out for prospective students. So, there are NO pre-reqs and even once you turn in your application, they don't really tell you much, until they call you and say you are in. It's hard to be patient, but in this case, you need to be. Remember there are two other reputable LPN programs in the valley. Don't limit yourself, apply to all or two atleast! Good Luck!

Good luck Jess. I wish I had advice, but I'm in the same boat. But, I do know you will do great! I'm sure all of the info in that book is quite intimidating....but we will learn it as we go. That Im confident of it! Let me know how it goes.....
