Moving to Scottsdale in September-Help!

I am relocating to Scottsdale in 6 weeks and have begun my search for a nursing position. I am interested in Cardiac/ICU/Cath Lab. I have 6 yrs exp. Any input on the hospitals close to Scottsdale...within a 20 min commute? I have interviewed (phone) with Banner Heart (Cath lab) and have an phone interview next week with Scottsdale Healthcare. I would like to have a position before I move so any opinions will be appreciated!

Also, what kind of hourly rate would I expect with my level of experience? It seems it is different than where I am from.

Off topic...any recommendations for sushi restaurants in Scottsdale???

don't go with banner baywood. seems like no one is very happy there.

scottsdale healthcare is great!!!! go either to scottsdale shea or the new hospital they have built on thompson peak. (i personally do not recommend scottsdale osborne).

you should ask for relocation assistance or if there is a sign on bonus at scottsdale...just to see if they'll do it.

the valley is starved for new nurses and especially ones with so much experience (you will be treated like a treasure by the recruiters!) scottsdale shea is a magnet hospital, i've never heard any bad things about it from friends i know that work there.

also, look into banner good samaritan (it's a great magnet hospital in the banner system), st. joseph's (dwntwn phx), and mayo clinic hospital (they have an excellent ICU).

so, they start new grads here at about $24/hour, so i'm sure you will get quite a bit more than that.

as far as sushi restaurants in scottsdale: try sushi ko--it's right next to scottsdale shea. it's a great little family-run sushi restaurant. also, if you want to do the whole scottsdale-thing, ra sushi in kierland commons or in downtown scottsdale are quite popular/hip.

don't settle with banner baywood, keep looking around!

Scottsdale Shea and Scottsdale Osborn would both be good bets ..... everyone I know that works at either of those places loves it there. Personally I'm not a big Banner fan, as I haven't always heard the greatest things, but some people like Banner hospitals ok.

I couldn't tell you an hourly rate, but just call around to those different hospitals and talk with the recruiters, they might be able to give you a better idea.
