The waiting list doesn't mean you will have to wait AT LEAST 3 semesters. However, the average waiting time is indeed 3 semesters. Basically, they just pick applications out of their big box and those lucky enough to get picked, get picked.
I've heard from applicants that got in the semester after they applied and other who waited 3 years. There's really no guarantee at all.
Good luck!
The time stamp puts you in line, when a spot opens up and its your turn, if you've selected the college that has an opening, you get in, if not you wait at the front of the line until one of your choices opens up. That being said, if you only have one selection made and you're adamant about waiting for that particular program, you have the much higher chance of waiting longer than someone who used all five of their choices.
Depending on where you are on the waitlist via your time and date stamp..for example, from what I can tell I am about 270'ish on the list seeing as I am 17th (8:00:17am march 26 2007) in line after the 250 something people in front of me (figured this by comparing when my date applied switched to 270 days waiting, noting the amount of people there were in that group and prior before my group switched)...IT IS BASED ON THE LUCK OF YOUR PICKS....considering there is no 5 choices that equal about 270, my chances of getting in depend on if i choose a school that is not so popular.....otherwise i'll get passed up even though in theory I am 270'ish in line and there are 397 openings for the public......oooyyyyyy!!!!.............

Hello All,
I am earnestly looking forward to joining program with one of the Maricopa Community Colleges. However, so far I dont think I understand the way the admission procedure. Can someone here explain this to me.
I am told that once the application has been received they will time stamp it. Then based on availability of an opening and my time stamp, I will be offered a seat.
Does this mean that there is wait list. If so, how long can the wait be ?
Under the MCC colleges, there are a total of 550+ seats for nursing. Is this correct ?
The current applications are about 1550 in queue.
So does this mean that my wait will be about 3 semesters at least?
Any inputs offered will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Dee.
