Maricopa Community Colleges-waiting list ?

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I just started looking into the programs. I am doing my A&P right now and should be able to put my application in 7 weeks. I have tons of credits that I am transfering. Now do I include those transcripts in my application? Also I was told today that the NET scores and your GPA's do not get factored in when they are looking at the list. They said it was the lottery? Can someone explain that to me? So is there a chance I may get in next semester if its a lottery??

Thanks in advance!!

Good luck to all

Yes you would need to include those transcripts.....As far as I know about the NET test, you do have to have a passing score but the score doesn't factor into whether you get a spot. Same with GPA as long as it's a C average. I don't think the chances of getting in within one semester are very good. Last time I looked there was about 1500 people on the wait list so all those people would be ahead of you. It's about a 3-4 semester wait right now.

My understanding is this: when you first apply to the nursing school program through MCCD your application will receive a random date/time stamp and so will everyone else. Then, you are on the waiting list. So, initially ~it seems to me~ it's 'lottery' then you sit and wait for your turn to come. Everyone who applies during that two month period has the same chances of getting placed 1st on that particular group's waiting list (or last, or any where in between).

HTH ~ just my two cents.
