GCU competitive gpa

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi everyone.

I plan on applying to GCU's fall '12 program. I'll be competing with a 3.35 science gpa and a 3.5 cumulative. Anyone know if this could get me in? I haven't taken my teas yet but am planning on doing so soon. Can anyone please provide feedback on their gpa's. Does anyone recommend I retake something to raise my science gpa? I have a C in bio 201 & a B in 202. I'm a nervous wreck because of this & keep thinking I won't get accepted. Please help...

Thanks very much!!!

P.s.im coming from GCC as a transfer.

I'm currently at GCC on the waitlist there. I have a friend that goes to GCU and according to her it's not very competitive(like ASU) in terms of getting accepted partly because its a private school. I have a friend that had average grades and got accepted with no problem.

Wow really? Do you know your friend's science gpa they got in with. You really gave me hope. Thanks, appreciate your response!

I just applied for Summer 2013 at GCU with a 3.5 cumulative and a 3.45 science. I am also a nervous wreck. I got a C in Chemistry and Stats but A's in everything else. I hate waiting.

That sounds like pretty good numbers to me. When will you find out? I'm sure you'll get in!

The regitstation cut off isnt until Jan 15th. So I am not sure if they accept/deny people as they apply or if they wait until they have all of the applicants and choose from there. I am thinking I should know by Mid February. I had a friend who got in, she starts Spring Semester and she got a C in Micro and in A&P 2. So, I am hopring my C in Chem is not as big of a deal as I am making it in my head.

Hello - I apologize for hijacking this thread, but I am interested in contacting GCU regarding their nursing program and am wondering whether someone who had a good Admissions counselor could PM me with the name/contact info of who they worked with? Thanks in advance :-)

I would love to give you the name of my admissions guy but I am not sure he is there for the long term. Long story short, I have had 3 since I have been working with GCU. The last 2 have been really nice and helpful but I know that my most recent is actually an advisor from another campus- Tucson and he does New Mexico's program too I think. I would hate for you to go through the frustration I have with the revolving door of advisors. They may have a new contact for future semesters.
