Facilities that train CNAs in Tucson

Are there facilities in Tucson that train people to be CNAs? I'm starting nursing school in two weeks and really want to work as a CNA throughout my next two years in the program. I don't care if there is a little commitment, i just want to get away from my current job and into the field ((i can't stand the hell-hole i'm currently at..but that's another story)). Any help would be appreciated. Thanx!

You will get the training for CNA in your first semester of nursing school and can become certified all without a comittment.

After your second semester you can become an LPN and make more money and get nursing experience. So don't limit yourself to being a CNA for the next 2 years under someone's comittment.

will we be able to sit for the CNA certification during the 1st semester or after the semester is over? And if I take the NCLEX-PN, will i be able to continue in the program or do i have to drop and take that transition class? thanx for your help CardiacRN

You do it after the first semester. As for the LPN, you take an extra class-I think it's 6 weeks, during second semester and you can sit for your boards after that. You won't need that transition class because you are already in the program.

If you plan to take the LPN you must decide in the beginning of second semester, as there are only so many seats available.

Thanx for clearing that up. I've been wondering how the whole "LPN thing" goes. I really want to be get my LPN during school so i can make more money through the last two semesters and since i won't have to drop i'll definitely do it. Thank you.
