Anyone know GCU Scottsdale evening program schedule?

I'm having a hard time getting information on the Grand Canyon University Scottsdale evening weekend program. Does anyone know what the days/hours are?

Hi there. From what I understand, they are no longer offering the evening class option on SHC campus. It's very unfortunate but it is also true that majority of students that began the night program with jobs are no longer employed or only working minimal hours to keep their 'foot' in the foor at hospitals.

Good luck.

Lizzyru is right. I had wanted to apply for the SHC evening program for this fall but had to apply for AT Still campus instead because my enrollment counselor said it had been canceled. The last evening program was in Spring '12. I asked when and if the evening program would start again and my enrollment counselor said he didn't know and it didn't look likely that it would begin again.

This is very odd.... I just finished applying to the Spring 2013 Scottsdale evening program at GCU and they didn't tell me anything about it being cancelled....

Do they also have a day program at Scottsdale?

If you are set on applying for an evening program, I would recommend double checking with your admissions counselor just to make sure they are offering evening program again. The group that just started in August at our Scottsdale campus is a full fledged day program. I would actually be surprised if they are offering evening program again. Just a thought. :)

Good luck to you!

Well I just got my acceptance letter to GCU's Scottsdale program for spring 2013! :) I am guessing it is days... Either was fine with me, I just wanted to get in!

Lizzyru, what is your class schedule like? Right now I work only part time; I work only two 12 hour night shifts a week and I am wondering if I might have to switch to days or cut my hours even more to do this program... The counselor didn't really give me too much information about it.......

Hi g33kgirl,

I am currently in my first block and I can tell you that I work about 18-20 hours a week. It can be a challenge at times but I think it is all about how you manage your time. There are some people who work two 12 hour shifts on the weekends and I honestly think that is more challenging than the hours I have spread over the week. If you have a big test coming up, having some time on the weekend really helps. The challenging part about keeping a job is also due to the ever-changing schedule. Our schedule changes every eight weeks. It doesn't change drastically but it can be challenging if you work during the week. I'd say that you may as well keep the job and then see how it goes. You'll feel like school is kicking your butt in the beginning whether you have a job or not! haha. Hope this helps!
