Abrazo's New Grad RN waiting lists

Hola!

I am a new grad RN, I just graduated in Dec. and passed my boards about three weeks ago. Like many new grads out there I'm having a super hard time finding a job.........I mean my apps and resumes don't even make it past HR!!

Anyways, I was wondering if any other new grads out there have made it into any of Abrazos' hospitals "new grad waiting list?" I have applied to West Valley's and Arrowhead's "waiting list" and I'm getting turned down because they have "selected other candidates" yet they still have the positions open in their web sites?????

I don't know what I'm doing wrong??? I wonder if they are only placing BSN graduates on the list??

Oh one more thing............anybody doing home health for MGA??? They are just about the only ones out there that will even talk to a new grad nurse, but I don't know much about them besides the fact that they do pediatric home health.

I applied to Abrazo's new grad waiting lists as well and was rejected within a day because they "selected other candidates", and I do have a BSN so that's not the reason. I'm not sure what the game is there but I found it fairly frustrating and depressing to get rejected from a waiting list. However, I was searching the Abrazo job listings today and did not see the waiting lists up anymore.

Never worked with MGA but agency nursing isn't such a good idea for a new grad. Then again I suppose you have to take what you can get these days.

I applied to Abrazo's new grad program (it was at a specific hospital in their system, I don't remember which) way back in October/November. I graduated/passed my boards in December and have been hounding them on what the deal is with the program as I haven't been declined yet and made it through an HR survey. When I finally got ahold of a nurse recruiter said they don't have a timeline or any idea of a timeline when they will actually be able to hire new grads. It was very unhelpful :/

My boyfriend works for abrazo and they are actually on a hiring freeze although they aren't telling anyone. They're keeping candidates waiting in hopes the freeze lifts. Abrazo has a really bad habit of also saying "another candidate was hired" when they haven't hired anyone yet, they just didn't find what they were looking for on your application. Don't ask what it is they're looking for either cause it seems to me that they are hiring from within and through word of mouth rather than through applications.

Thanks for all of your posts, at least I know there isn't a problem with just me. I just wish they would get rid of the "waiting list" postings, they keep taking them off and adding them back on!

MGA? One word to describe this company. Vultures. If you wan't HH Peds I suggest Loving Care Agency Phoenix. For new grads you may have to go through more company "protocol" training but it is worth it. MGA will hire anybody who says they are a new grad. In fact you don't even have to contact them because as soon as you graduate..... you will feel the same as if in a car dealership.... cornered. And the management needs some serious reconstruction. I have much more information on other HH for peds if anybody is interested for the Valley of the Sun new grads. Ohhh have I been there :(
