I have been out of nursing for 13 years and considering returning.
I had previously worked as an RN in orthopaedics at a hospital for 8 years. I am looking at physician office nursing because I do not want shift work (that's what drove me away before!)
One of my concerns is do I have to know EVERYTHING about every drug out there, or do most physicians basically prescribe certain meds?

You can and do see just about anything in a doctor's office, but you aren't expected to know everything. I keep my drug book handy and refer to it as needed. I think you'll find that you learn all sorts of things in what many people presume to be a quiet job.
Good luck in your search :).
