Ambulatory Care Nurse Certification?

I'm interested on feedback on this certification. I'll be coming up on 2 years as an RN in a FQHC and I've been wondering if obtaining this certification would be worth my while.

Ambulatory nurses, what are your thoughts on this?

If not the ambulatory care cert, What are the certifications that you have found contribute greatest to advancement and marketability?

Honestly, if you have the experience in ambulatory that is required to sit for the ANCC cert exam, you can pass the test without dropping $ on prep materials.

My concern is that while I would have enough experience to sit for the exam, I work with a very specific subset (OB/gyn). I know very little about ambulatory care for people with memberes. So I've wondered a few times if there was any way I would be able to pass without extensive review of stuff that I haven't dealt with since nursing school.

Klone, I just took the CCM exam which is totally broad also. I looked at the test blueprint and studied the areas that I don't work with or have experience in. Same with the CDE exam. The blueprints are weighted so you don't spend tons of time on material with few questions.

Definitely just common sense questions on this exam. If you passed the NCLEX you will pass the ANCC exam. Don't pay for an expensive review course. I did "Ambulatory Care Nursing review questions" and and skimmed through the "Core Curriculum for Ambulatory Care Nursing" manuals. Both can be purchased on AAACN website. Honestly, I think you will pass just going in cold, especially if you're a good test taker.
