Who is applying to UAH and/or Calhoun Community Collge Nursing schools Spring 2014

I was wondering who is applying to UAH, Calhoun Community College, or both in the Huntsville/Decatur, Alabama area. I have applied to both schools myself and I am starting to get anxious. I am hoping we can all come together to support and encourage each other and maybe even offer some advice. Don't be afraid to discuss concerns and ask questions, because most likely there is someone who feels the same and at the same time, there might be someone on here who can help. Good luck everyone!

The applications for the RN mobility program were due the same time as the RN program, so I think it would be safe to say that they will be in the mail about 6 weeks after the due date. Therefore, I think they would start going out the week of November 11, 2013. I would give Calhoun a call, however, to make sure.

Girls RUN to your mailboxes!!!! I got a letter/packet from Uah today and I was accepted into the program!!!!! So excited!!!!!! Let me know if anyone else received anything today!!!

Thank you kissesnhugs...I just went to my mailbox and got a thick letter that said in summary that I was ACCEPTED! Oh my gosh I'm so excited, too! :)

I'm not sure which one I'll attend, but the Friday date may be the best one for me. Which one are you going too? Would you like to attend one together ? I'm so excited!!!! I wonder how much insurance is going to cost us :( Oh did you apply to Calhoun also? If so are you for sure choosing Uah? I applied to both myself. I'm set on Uah but kinda torn due to cost. So much to think about lol.

Now our journeys begin :)

I would like to go to the Wednesday one (yes, I would love for us to go to the same one!!), because I think there will be a lot to do to get ready like CPR classes and shot records and financial stuff..... I feel the same way about worrying about the cost, but maybe we can meet up and solve these issues together (two heads are better than one I always say). Besides, there is a lot of help out there for student nurses.

I am definitely turning in the paper for UAH. If you want to meet on campus, just let me know when. I can meet up anytime Monday-Friday between 8am to 12pm. I'm thinking the University Center is a good place to start, because that is where they do the shots and titers. Let me know what you think, and CONGRATULATIONS on getting in!!

Now, I just hope I can get some sleep! :woot: :wideyed:

Im applying to Calhoun's LPn to RN mobility onile for spring 2014. im praying I get in! Im also applying to snead! Im oping my B in AP1 and B in MIcro and C in AP2 with my 72.7 teas score doesnt hurt me and i get in! it would be really benificial for me to get into a online program! does anyone know if you usually have to wait the full 6 weeks to get the letters???

I am not positive about the six weeks, but it seems to be that way for all nursing programs around here. I would call Calhoun, however, to get a definitive answer. There are plenty of people there willing to help you get an answer to your question(s). Good luck and let us know what happens!

Thanks! The letter was dated for Thursday so I'm thinking they were mailed Friday. You should receive something by tomorrow. I'm sure you got in to and I know you just want that proof in your hand lol . When you do get it, let us know! Good luck! positive thoughts! Your packet is on the way :)

Oh I had a question about the program at your school. Is your schools nursing program hard to get into? I saw some post on here about it and I was just wondering.

YES it is VERY hard to get into, I know people who applied like 5 times before getting accepted. Luckily USA accepts Fall, Spring and Summer and usually Summer is the best time to get in. Most of the time you have to have like 3.3 to get in and you have to have everything done before applying; CPR, shots and all that stuff. UAH application was really easy compared to South and unlike UAH theres no professional statement or anything and the application is like 13 pages long!
