I was wondering if anyone is attending or has previously attended this program. I'm trying to find more information on the program. Any input would help. I start Nur200 in Jan. and was just wondering how its gonna go. If you've attended Nur 200 elsewhere I'd love to hear about how its focused etc...

I haven't attended the program myself, but I work with someone who is attending now. But it's my understanding that the online program just started being offered this past summer semester. I think my coworker was in the first group admitted, but I might be wrong. Anyway, from what I've heard about it, it's a good program. You just have to be the kind of person who doesn't mind taking initiative and working on your own. You have to arrange for your own clinicals. My coworker just does hers on our unit at work, but if you don't work in a hospital setting it might be a little more difficult. Sorry I can't tell you more, but I hope it was helpful. Good luck!

Thanks for responding abracadabra. Glad to hear something positive. I'm pretty self motivated- actually I work better that way. BTW I'm track I so I have to take Nur 200, any input? I guess I need to find a flexi-pool so I can get ready for clinicals by May.

It sounds like the program would work out well for you then. I'm not sure how they do NUR 200, though. Because you only have to take it if you've been out of LPN school for more than a year, and my coworker and I graduated in August 2007 so we didn't have to take it. I'm not sure if that would be offered online. I'll have to ask her the next time we work together and I'll let you know what I find out.

This is actually ironic! I just went to Snead State yesterday. I spoke with the Nursing Secretary, Tammy Robinson. She was able to answer ALL of my questions; it was like she was an advisor or may be one--just a different title. She was telling myself and a friend about that pilot LPN online mobility program or whatever it's officially called. She said that this is the first full year of it, and if it meets all of the State's approval or if the State likes the results at the end of the year, they will continue it. She said so far it looks good. The thing that I was impressed with is that in that LPN mobility, if you are the student, you schedule your clinicals (90 hours) as a preceptor. COULD YOU IMAGINE HOW BENEFICIAL THAT WOULD BE!!! One-on-one with a medical staff member for your clinicals! During my clinicals at another school, there were 8 students fighting for one professor's attention and help. If I were you, I would go talk to Mrs. Robinson. She was just very polite and helpful. GOOD LUCK!!

This is the 3 yr for the program. There are under review from ABN and I'm not sure the program will continue. It's not very sucessful. It's more than just taking iniative and studing on your own. There's a LOT more to it. Keep you eye on it...... not sure how long it will be around

Hi. I am about to apply to this online mobility program. How are you doing in it? Are you pleased? Do you know if it's hard to be accepted into it? My recent grades are great but some in my past are not so good so my GPA is around 2.7. I'd love any info you have!

I got in the first time, not sure about cut off requirements I say try anyway. Have you taken the compass yet? Remember you need that as well. I didn't pass first semester. But, overall same climate as other nursing programs. Just go into it seriously, like you would a campus program, as it requires alot of dedication with your time, stay ahead.Get rock solid on dosage calculations you have to test twice if you need Nur 200 or once if you dont before moving into third semester. No matter what they say study, study everything anyway. Hope this helps sorry for the delay.

    Hey,

I just got accepted to the online mobility and I am starting in Jan 09. I was hoping I could ask someone a few questions that has attended or is attending.

    Thanks!!!!

Congrats on your acceptance to the program. Do you have to take NUR200 first? If so, you will like the class it's a lot of material- but doable. i have to reapply to Nur201 so we may be in the same graduating class, if I am readmitted. Learn to manage your time and set aside plenty study time and you shoould do well also invest in nclex type question review book. Let me know if I can help. Good luck to you.
