by Nurseandwife Mar 17, '10I am currently working at a LTC facility in Huntsville, AL and making really good money but the hours stink! I am looking for a job in the same area at a doctors office so that my work sschedule will closer match my husbands. I understand the $17.50 I make now is way out of reach starting out at a doctors office but I'm not sure what is reasonable. I graduated in August last year so I don't have alot of experiance. can anyone give me a ball park of what I should be making?

- Mar 17, '10 by KeeperMomI'm guessing you might make in the $12-14 range as an LPN in a doc's office working part-time. Most offices are closed one day a week so that can cut into your hours too. I know that some doctors pay very well but you might not get the hours you need either. I guess it is all relative to how much you are willing to cut vs how many hours you can/want to work.
- Mar 18, '10 by NurseandwifeThe number of hours are not so important as when. I can't stand the two or three weekends a month and all holidays spent at work. Thanks so much for that advice
- Mar 18, '10 by KeeperMomI hear ya! That is the ONE thing that attracts me to a doc's office. I'm at UAH and will graduate next May and I am not looking forward to the RN hours. It does make a doc's office very attractive for moms but I know I won't make near what I can in a hospital with benefits, etc.
