Jeff State Spring 2014 Hopefuls

U.S.A. Alabama

Published

Hi everyone!! I currently attend Jeff State Shelby Campus. I am applying for the Spring this fall. I am so excited! I have taken the teas once but did not get the store I wanted so I am currently preparing to take it at least twice before the summer is out! So pumped...anyone else?

Well i was enlightened today that my 180 was competitive via Nursing guidance at my campus. Fingers crossed !!! And the intense waiting begins!!!!!!

Yeah, I think you may be right, but I'm not sure. It seems like every single person in my Micro class right now will be applying for spring term. When I turned my app in the advisor said I should hear something within 2 weeks of the deadline, I kinda thought that was very early compared to previous terms, but I did turn mine in rather early-ish. I just wish we knew immediately so we could go ahead and plan for orientation stuff. What campus are you currently at?

I'm currently at the Shelby campus

I am so glad to see others writing on here lol. I have been checking almost everyday(sad I know). I am so excited! And that really is early to hear something back... But I would rather it be sooner than later :). I talked to one advisor and I was told the fall cut off is around 190 and spring is around 170...I have read other threads and on one spring hopefuls' page they did receive their emails/calls two weeks after the deadline....fingers crossed.is there anyone who is applying and this admission will NOT be their first time in the program?

Hi, what did you apply with if you dont mind me asking?

Thank you :) It has been a LONG journey but I am praying that something happens soon. And yes my little one is 18 months and he is so wild and busy, I don't think it'll faze him :)...so I guess you could say I really haven't been in the program for 18 months now lol ... My fist choice was Shelby and second was Jefferson...I was tempted to not put anything. The adviser asked me what I was thinking and I said I was going to erase them and let fate decide lol.. But she told me it won't make a difference if I get in or not it's just better if I put something.

I applied with 191....did anyone have to turn in a sheet that had the points added up? I spoke with the nursing adviser when I turned everything in and she told me I had everything...I am just scared I missed something and it'll come back to haunt me lol....I can't remember what all I turned in the first time I applied...And if I am correct and I turned in everything I needed...I am guessing they will look up our points?

Yeah you did everything right. I thought I had to turn my points sheet in too but she said it was just for us to see what our score was and we keep them. I sure wish the deadline would just get here so we could actually begin the real wait...lol.

What all do you remember about your orientation? Is there anything we need to go ahead and do now?

I don't recall too much sorry ... I do know that you shouldn't worry about trying to prepare for the orientation, they give you plenty of time to get everything together....the one thing I do recommend is to start reading BEFORE you start the semester...bc trying to play catch up is no fun and makes everything worse....there is a lot of reading assigned but I knew a lot a people who did not get to read everything, and they were fine. But don't get me wrong, you have.to.read a lot...just don't get discouraged :) everyone will be overwhelmed but keep in mind your main goal is to pass boards, and that's all they want to do is prepare you for that and help you to become the best nurse you can be... :)

Thank you!! I just wish this would speed up because I am beyond ready to get started!! Haha

I applied with 197. I'm thinking that's a pretty decent number, but you never know. Just hoping for the best:)

Oh I'm sure you'll be fine... I hear the cutoff is normally 185-ish. Is the wait driving you crazy yet? Haha... The deadline is still over a week away!!

I'm the same way lol...I can't wait to get started. But I don't mind waiting a couple of weeks now that I have been waiting over a year now.
