How much for Vaccinations??

U.S.A. Alabama

Hi, I will probably be accepted into Gadsden State's RN program and all of my vaccination records are gone. I called my pediatricians office and was told they destroyed my vaccination records when I turned 25. My mother lost my records and the health dept. and my high school do not have them anymore either. I was wondering if anyone out there that has gone through a nursing program has had the same issue and how much were the blood tests/vaccinations without insurance and where should I get them at. I have called a few medical clinics and was told with no health insurance they refuse to do the immunizations and blood tests even if I paid the money up front. I will be devastated if I get into the program but then get kicked out because of immunizations. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have a similar issue so I would be happy to hear an answer as well. I do have health insurance, but no records. I have been told that the health dept will do titers/vaccinations at a low cost but have not checked into it yet. Good luck! Relysh

I am also in the same situation. I heard the other students saying that you can get the vaccinations through your local health department.

I just went through the same thing. I did not have access to my vaccines ( I'm 38 ) and inquired at my family doc's office. They took a blood sample from me and sent it to LabCorp to do a titer to prove I had been vaccinated. It was not covered by insurance, so it cost me $330. The results of my titer proved my vaccinations and I sent that paperwork along with my application, which they accepted. I would check with the local health department and ask how much the titer test would be and compare that to your local family doc. I also discovered that at one Dr. office here, it would cost me $50.00 for a TB test shot, but only $10 at the Dr. down the road. My Hep B shot was covered under insurance and Tetorifice cost me $10, as well, as the same Dr.. Just make sure to call a few different Dr. offices, health dept, and campus health facility to ~~compare prices~~ and save a couple of bucks. Good Luck! It's crazy to think how much it cost just to "apply" to nursing school :)::cool:
