If anyone that has graduated from here recently and has a uniform dress that they want to sell, please let me know. We had our first day of class today and were informed that for the "pinning" ceremony we will need to have a uniform dress rather than the scrubs(pantsuit) that we can elect to wear for clinicals. Crazy to have to buy a uniform dress for ONE ceremony. So anyway if you would be interested, just let me know the size and amount you are wanting. Thanks!:)

Are u at the Bessemer or Bham campus? I'm in my last semester and they told me the same. There is a place on Bess Super Hwy called N&N. I might try there closer to the ceremony and see if they have something cheap.

I'm at Bessemer in my first semester. We were fitted for uniforms last week, but I only ordered the pantsuit and thought I would see if someone who had just graduated would want to sell the dress they had for pinning. Do you know if it has to be the same style that LeJoy was selling the students, or can it be any type white nurses dress?

If u r buying a dress 4 clinicals, u would have to buy the style LeJoy's has. They haven't given us any specifics on what type of white dress to wear 4 the pinning, they just said it had to be a white dress. I too attend the Bess campus nite classes. Thankfully I'm in my last semester! Yay! Hang in there and study hard!

We weren't told we had to buy the dress from LeJoy but we were told we didn't have to buy it right now either. I just bought what I needed for the moment. I've had to spend so much money this semester just entering the nursing program that anywhere I can hold off parting with my money so much the better! Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! I'm gearing up for my first exam this week in Health Assessment, so it will be study, study , study this weekend.

I know, I have gone broke just getting thru school! They don't ever stop asking for money! You won't need to buy the dress till ur last semester, unless u prefer to wear dresses at ur clinicals. Then u have to wear the one from LeJoys. Good luck on ur test! Hope u do well!

We just had our 1st meeting about the pinning ceremony, and now they are telling us that we have to buy the nursing dress from LeJoy's. Sinks for us b/c we have the old uniform style, which won't work. So we all have to buy new dresses. A good bit of my classmates are declining the pinning ceremony b/c of this. I have decided I really want to participate in it! Sad to say though, it's gonna cost me b/w $100-150 to buy all the accessories. WOW!

What a ripoff! Since Lawsons wants the ladies to wear dresses, then they should fork out the money to pay for them. That much money for one ceremony is ludacrous!

That's why it's optional. That includes the dress, cap, pin, lamp, and pics (which I'm not doing). I wasn't going to do it at first, but my family has been pushing me to do it and I feel that if I don't, I might look back later and wish I did. Plus, I love the special attention. Might as well lavish in it lol! :D

P.S. Not really crazy about the cap thing though! :nurse:
