AMNP at UAB Summer 2011 Applications

Has anyone applied for the AMNP Summer 2011 term? It's been 3 weeks since the deadline for applications and I was wondering if anyone has heard anything?

They say interviews will be held in Feb. and they will give ample time to prepare for a trip, but I'm worried since its already Feb and I havent heard anything! Also, will they let us know if we dont make it to the interview round? Will they send rejection letters or just never tell us?

I'm getting really upset about leaving Auburn as well :sniff:

I thought they had a 2nd degree BSN too... maybe they don't anymore? Auburn used to offer an accelerated program like UABs but they don't anymore, or else I'd just stay here.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Mollie, and I am starting the AMNP program in May too! I have made a facebook page for our group if anyone is interested! If you get on facebook, just search for UAB AMNP and you should be able to find it!

Also, I started the AMNP last year but stopped after three weeks because i thought that i wanted to apply to medical school instead! Well, I decided that DEFINITELY wanted to do the AMNP so I am going back! I don't know a lot about the other semesters, but if anyone has any questions about the beginning (books, financial aid, what we need/dont really need, places to get stuff, what to expect that first couple of weeks) I might can answer them :)

Can't wait to meet you all, and I hope you enjoy your last month before school!

Hey Mollie! I would also love some information! I'm so excited and anxious about getting started!! All I keep hearing is how intense it is! Also, do we complete the HIPPA training course and OSHA training course at orientation? I've already registered for the CPR course, but I wasn't for sure if we were supposed to have those courses completed to.. trying to make sure I've got everything done that needs to be done! Thanks!! :)

hey everyone! i'm so sorry i haven't written back....as you all know, this last month has flown by! in regards to ohsa and hippa, (moderator edit of name - please do not post names of individuals in your program per tos) said that she would give out that info at orientation. in terms of the parking decal, you do need one! you can get them at the uab parking and transportation office located at 608 8th street south birmingham, al 35294-4550. you do need to be registered for classes before you can get one though! also, everyone make sure that you have accepted your financial aid award and done the tutorials! would anyone be interested in having a get together at my house my night? i was thinking maybe friday or saturday night before classes start?

i am so excited to meet everyone! please let me know if i can help anyone with anything! my last day of work was friday so i am free all week!

Hi Olliegirl ... I don't know if you will ever see this, but I just interviewed for the AMNP program this upcoming year and I live an hour away from UAB. I was wondering how it went for you with the drive? I don't know of anyone else that has attempted it... everyone I have met lives in bham :(
