Hello. I'm a RN from India with Master's degree in Nursing and I'm planning to go to Canada on a work visa.. I ve met an agency who told me that they will get me job or work permit on PR basis in Canada. They have told me the job is going to be a Nursing assistant. But I don have CRNE.. Is there any possibility that I can get a Job in Canada.. I have IELTS with overall 7.5, speaking 8,listening 7.5 W 7 and R 6.5..

What kind of Jobs will I get in Canada? and how will be the work wages? Is the agency telling me truth or is a Fraud agency?

Kindly Help!

Investigate deeply, I seriously doubt you will get a TWP for nursing assistant, there is no demand for it and with all the current abuse going on and the government toughening up on LMO's for companies expect it to get much tougher. Better to concentrate on English exams and apply to a provincial college of RN and get assessed then look at options to live and work

Dear Silverdragon102

Thank you so much for Your reply.. You mentioned there is no demand for it. can you explain me little bit about the conditions there? You mentioned the word current abuse, can you tell me a little more about that..

You suggest me to directly get me education and work assessed by the state or provincial council right? And will they be able to give me the clear picture on options for me to live and work in that particular state right?

For a start Canada has provinces not states. If you check out Canada news networks like CBC you will see many articles on the abuse of TWP where local people both Citizens and people already with PR have been bypassed/sacked etc in jobs and the jobs given to foreign workers for possible less $$

Colleges will not assist with relocation ie work options for living in the province but you have a better chance finding employer if you have eligibility or passed exam and meet licensure requirements.

Check out the CIC website in regards the different options available for living and working in Canada

Nursing assistance are plentiful and the demand is just not there to justify employer applying for a LMO which proves to the government that a local can not do the job. To get a LMO the employer has to advertise across the whole of Canada for a certain period of time and prove that they can not employ from within Canada

Nursing Assistants are NOT plentiful. It is hard, back breaking work in my facilities. We always have vacancies despite EI funding people through the training programmes. People take the training to keep the EI payments coming in, they work long enough to get some experience or a foot in the door and then they are gone.

It's a constant revolving door of staff in major cities. Maybe it's different with Nova Scotia.

Having said that nobody is recruiting off shore for hospital NAs. Perhaps they are supplying staff for the for profit sector and people with elderly relatives who employ "nannies" for their elders of the same ethnic background. I've recently heard of someone who was offered a blackmarket job which was basically slavery. Seven days a week, live in, $2800/month. She had no legal status in Canada.

No legitimate business is recruiting for entry level jobs right now due to the misuse and public backlash against the Temp. Foreign Worker progarrme
