Tier 2 Dependant Visa

Hi! I just want to ask if anyone who has been recently hired by the NHS (from the Philippines) has tried applying for a dependant visa for their spouse? Ive read the UKBA site, and i've researched forums, too. But nothing beats advice from someone who's done it successfully. Can anyone help or give pointers? It would be awesome to do it right the first time. :)

From what I understand, going through the same thing from Canada, as long as you are eligible tier 2 visa, they are eligible for a dependant visa. You do have to apply at the same time though.

Hi phoenixblaise!

Okay. But then the CoS from my employer doesnt include my husband. It's just me that gets covered. If we do apply at the same time, with savings and/or the accommodation being the two most crucial requirements after the CoS, i think it'll be a problem.

My husband wont have the accommodation that i'll be granted (at least, im not sure if he'll be entitled to it if we arrive at the same time or apply at the same time) and im not sure whether the employer will allow us to share the room, or if it is big enough by UKBA standards.

Also, if we do apply for the visa at the same time, would i be allowed to enter the uk first (according to flight details given by employer) to look for a flat prior to his arrival? I'll have 14 days to collect my brp whereas he, being the dependant, will be given 30days to collect his permit if im not mistaken. Although a 15 day leeway is a tall order in terms of looking for a flat. :/

Or in a much simpler alternative thought, if we do apply together, would that mean that we wont have to submit proof of accommodation so long as we have the funds they require?
