haha julia, we have the same concern with re: IELTS... had 6.5 in writing. I did good in the other parts. i dunno whats with my writing skill! lol. have to look on the brighter side though.. and I def. not gonna hold back.
    you're right about that!
my friend just recently gave up australia, meseems.he says he's just gonna aim for the UK because australia is getting more strict and he just lost his hopes...no use trying to convince him.I on the other hand have a different feeling about this and I think that if i really want something, i have to fight hard for it..and that the rewards of which will be great..haha!beginning to sound like a sage!

I think your friend will find the UK is even stricter. The UK asks for 12-24 months RN experience and getting a work permit will be hard as unemployment is still high in the UK and preference is given to UK then EU citizens before rest of world

Hi there astromikaelo! No word fro NSW-NMB yet. Actually I rang them about 3 weeks ago to inquire if they have received my IELTS result and Good Standing from PRC. Everything's with them, they said, but warned me that assessments now may take up to 6 months. Maybe I'll follow-up again after about a couple of months. Don't want them to get irritated

Unfortunately the poster who started this thread is no longer 'active' and has not responded to any of my PMs. So I guess it's just up to us to keep this thread breathing

Good luck and God bless on your application! Let's keep each other posted
wow, thanks chocokat.. i thought my post before didnt get a response. my bad for not seeing this.

Yeah I really did try my best to convince him to opt for oz, but he just won't change his mind because of what happened to his sister who went back from oz.She discouraged him on applying for oz because it might not lead to fruition.and his mind got messed up.now he's checking out some consultancies so he can apply for it.

can you pls tell more about what happened to your friend's sister because as I see it this is very unlikely. Only those who failed the bridging will obviously have no fruition because they won't be granted license.

Consultancies for the UK will not help as the NMC requirements still have to be met. I would suggest you get your friend to check out this site and let him read what others have been doing for Australia
