any latest news regarding your application?

none still as of the moment. but i received a preliminary assessment from them sometime last month. sorry if i haven't posted it here. well it simply just said that as of that time they were not satisfied with my bsn here in the philippines because tertiary education there is very much different from ours. they said that i could withdraw my application for rn and opt for enrollment as a nurse instead but that i still have to undergo the bp for ens. i replied that i still would like to go through with my application as an rn. i even asked what more documents could i submit just to strengthen my application status for registration but they said that they have everything they need from me. so they advised me to just wait for their formal and final assessment. but i'm not holding my breath for it. i have a feeling i won't be assessed as an rn anyway... if that would be the case then i won't go for the bp for ens as it would just be a waste of time and money

good luck to you and to others out there on your applications!

    i feel so unsure
as i take your hand and lead you to the dance floor
as the music dies, something in your eyes
calls to mind the silver screen
    and all its sad good-byes

    i'm never gonna dance again
guilty feet have got no rhythm
    though it's easy to pretend
    i know you're not a fool

should've known better than to cheat a friend
and waste the chance that i've been given
so i'm never gonna dance again
the way i danced with you

Good for you, at least you're not a second courser like me. I am really praying that they assess me as an RN.
Hi chocokat, is this the reason probably why they say your BSN doesn't match theirs? May I ask what's the problem with 2nd courses? I am also a 2nd courser but it was a 3-year curriculum and my Diploma states I graduated Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The 1 year was waived because the minor subjects have been evaluated as already undertook during the 1st course also with the same university.

How many years did you finish your BSN as a second courser? I'm a bit worried now..

Assessment is a case by case situation. There are plenty of 2nd coursers applying in Melbourne and there are people who are successfully assessed as RN despite studying for 2 years only.

The unification of registering bodies. It's causing great influx of applicants, bp courses are limited, some schools/hospitals are no longer offering bp, bp slots are already full, long waiting list for bp slots next year. Hopefully, things will stabilize by July. Just wait and see.

Okay, thanks for the tip. Since in NSW only the College of Nursing is offering the BP course i'll inquire from them first the chances of entering the BP program in 2011, because I'm seriously applying for eligibility infact this week i'll be sending already my documents.

Bp program in all states are limited right now especially here in wa. Maybe we'll see changes by July. Also, assessment in nsw will now take up to 6 mos. Even in nbv. Gud luck mate
