Help: requirements not met on CA BoRN

World Immigration

Published

I just received a letter from NCLEX telling me that my application to take the exam cannot be approved because I did not meet the minimum requirements in Med-Surg, and Obstetric nursing. But they didn't specify it... they want me to enroll in accredited schools to make up for deficiencies. I graduated from the Philippines, and passed the NLE there. I am an immigrant here US and currently residing in Nevada. I have submitted all the requirements that they asked. Has anyone encountered the same problem? And if you did, what did you do? All help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean, if it's about your credentials from Philippines why would NCLEX be dealing with your documents directly? I am also an RN from Philippines and migrated here in US too, but I had my school credentials evaluated first from an accrediting agency that was provided by the State Board where I'll take my exam, like for example CGFNS. And once you are ok there shouldn't be problem with your school paper works. Call, clarify what's wrong and if needed be, comply on their requested requirements. Good luck.

Check the international nursing forum there are at least 3 threads discussing this issue. Many iENs have encountered this exact issue with CABRN. California does its own assessment of IEN education, whereas most other states use CGFNS services.

Moved to the International forum where as mentioned you will find several threads discussing this issue

Theories and clinicals must be done concurrently.ALL OB cases must finished when OB was offered and same as MS.Options are look for an accredited schools approved by BRN and take the class if you still want to take the exam in CA.But i'm telling you,its gonna be a long process. It's really hard to get in to a Nursing program here., or apply for CGFNS CES to take the exam in another state.Best of luck to us!God bless.
