Cali LVN to RN question and concerns

Hi, I have been following all or most of the latest developments here, it's been very good ideas and thoughts passed around. Like so many of you, I too was denied getting the ok to take the NCLEX because of the same concurrent problems. I graduated from the PH back in 2010 and did not take the local exam there. I do have a SSN.

I looked into going the same route as most of you here of just trying to get the ok from the BVNPT.

But did you guys see this from the CA BON website about even if we get our LVN license, we MUST still pass the same concurrency issues that's holding us all back OR we can go to any professional nursing program that's approved by the CA BON. So must we now try to get into these CA colleges and schools with all the waiting list I read about?

This is found under the CA BON "Educational Requirements". It MUST be concurrent with clinical and theory also.

You cannot make up courses under the LVN license either to qualify for the RN license educational requirements either is how I read this.

CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS - LVN-30 UNIT OPTION:

* A copy of your current license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse is required, as well as the year first licensed.

* Following LVN licensure, you must have completed professional registered nursing courses in a California school accredited by the Board which is beyond the first year and includes theory with concurrent clinical practice in advanced medical-surgical, mental health, psychiatric and geriatric nursing, physiology, and microbiology.

* Courses required for vocational nurse licensure do not count toward fulfillment of the additional RN educational requirements.

Sorry, but I'm very confused as it seems like getting the LVN license is no guarantee to qualify us for the CA NCLEX-RN?

What are your thoughts? If it's true, we are very stuck in our options here.

Taking LVN exam doesn't qualify us to sit for NCLEX-RN, it's just one of the option some of us have to take to be able to work and save money to enroll in a school for the completion of our deficiency.because we all know that we need a lot of cash in order to sit for the RN exam.:)And that's for those who really want to stay in California.
