Australian RN wants to move to Florida USA... passed NCLEX

World Immigration

Hi guys,

Does anyone know which immigrant visa name I should apply for as I want to permanently migrate to Florida USA. I am a Philippine-born Australian citizen, with a son (he is 17) who will go with me. I passed the NCLEX 2 weeks ago.

I have not found an employer yet. Is it worthwhile to use an agency like o'grady peyton? Or just apply straight to the hospital? Hope to get an insight on how to go about the whole process.

My mom is a US citizen (senior citizen). one sister a greencard holder. Both in Florida.

Hope to get some advice.

Thank you kindly....

You can not apply for a visa you need either your mum to file for family which takes several years and your son may age out or you need a employer and current waiting times for that is over 3 years and again your son may age out. You really need to speak to a immigration lawyer and see what options there are for you

Thank you Silverdragon102. Do you know of a good immigration lawyer?

NO I am sorry I don't, maybe ask your mum to make some enquiries

As an Australian citizen your other option is to use E-3 visa to work for 2 yrs at a time. You would still need to pursue family-based immigration as E-3 is not a permanent visa. Your dependent son would NOT be able to work on E3D visa. You would also still need to find an employer with a suitable position to meet the visa requirements.
