***Background Check*** is an alien with asylum case pending allowed to study nursing?

I'm not a US citizen nor legal resident, I do have an asylum case pending so that i was given a working permit. I'm curious if my status will prevent me passing the background check?

Im pretty sure most, if not all, programs require students to be a legal citizen, or have a student visa or something to the like to apply. It wouldn't be the background check that you need to worry about. Its being accepted to even apply to school at all. You would need to speak with an advisor for the programs you are interested in and ask what their admittance policy is and what you can do to qualify.

You'll need to ask your school. In some states you have to provide proof of legal residence in the form of passport, birth certificate, or permanent resident card. Driver's license is not even enough to go to school here in GA. You can probably get a student visa. Again, check with your school.
